Your First Day in Culinary Key

Culinary Key replaces paper food safety records with a simple digital system — but a blank dashboard on day one can feel like a lot. This guide is your map for the first few minutes.

What Culinary Key Actually Does

At its core, Culinary Key gives every physical premises — called a Location — its own set of daily checklists, temperature logs, and audit-ready records. Instead of paper folders and clipboards, everything is timestamped, stored automatically, and ready to show an inspector at any time.

The Five Areas You'll Use Most

Your First Location

Everything in Culinary Key is organised around Locations. If you haven't created one yet, that's the first thing to do — it takes a couple of minutes and automatically sets up your front and back of house logs, staff access, and reporting for that site. See Creating Your First Location for the full walkthrough.

You're the Account Owner

The account you signed up with is responsible for billing and top-level access. You can invite team members once you're set up, and give them a more restricted view if you'd rather they only see what they need day to day.

Where to Go From Here

Once your first Location is created, the natural next steps are:

  1. Look at Admin → Manage Sites to see what's already set up for you. You will need to create your bespoke checklists here.
  2. Get familiar with the Daily dashboard — this is what your team will use every shift.
  3. Work through the rest of this training when you have a few minutes.
  4. Got stuck? Don't worry we are here to help head to Help & Support.

Conclusion

There's no need to learn everything on day one. Create your Location, take a look at the Daily dashboard, and come back to the rest of this training whenever suits. Culinary Key is built to fit around how your business already runs — not the other way round.
